TAMPA — Trademark Metals Recycling (TMR) – – Florida’s largest scrap metal recycler – – is proud to present two checks totaling over $6,000 to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa®. Since early 2015, TMR collaborated with Shriners with the Cans for a Cause program, allowing aluminum recyclers to convert cans into cash for pediatric patients. Over the past two years:

• Scrap recyclers donated over 4,000 pounds of cans or can tabs to one of Trademark Metals Recycling’s seven Tampa Bay area locations and designated that the value go to Shriners. TMR transferred that cash value of those donations and then matched the dollar amount for donation to Shriners.
• TMR recycled over 17,000 pounds of can tabs collected at various Shriners facilities, community groups and schools, clubs and workplaces, and paid the value of that scrap metal to Shriners.

Carter Bova, who spearheaded the project for TMR, said the company’s culture and philosophy revolves around being good neighbors in and giving back to the communities in which TMR does business. “At Trademark Metals Recycling, it is our way of ‘paying it forward’ for an organization that does so much for children. We are honored to partner with Shriners to raise money and help support their cause.”

“We’re thrilled about this continued partnership,” said Alicia Argiz-Lyons, director of development for Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa. “For years, our Shriners patients and donors have generously collected can tabs to help with our mission of providing expert pediatric specialty care. Recycling the can tabs collected at our facilities, plus scrap donated by recyclers and TMR’s matching funds, allow us to serve even more children who come to us for fractures, spinal deformities and other complex orthopaedic conditions. We are thankful to TMR for their support.”
