TAMPA — Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa® is proud to announce a partnership with Trademark Metals Recycling (TMR) – – Florida’s largest scrap metal recycler – – that will allow aluminum recyclers to convert cans into cash for pediatric patients throughout 2015.
Recyclers can take their cans or can tabs to one of Trademark Metals Recycling’s nine Tampa Bay area locations and designate that the value go to Shriners. TMR will transfer that amount and also contribute an extra 50 cents for each dollar donated.
“We’re thrilled about this new partnership,” said Jeannette Skinner, administrator for Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa. “For years, our Shriners and patients have generously collected can tabs to help with our mission of providing expert pediatric specialty care, but this will allow us to serve even more children who come to us for fractures, curved spines and other complex orthopaedic conditions. We don’t turn any family away, so we are thankful to TMR for their support.”
Craig Silvera, who spearheaded the project for TMR, said the company’s culture and philosophy revolves around being good neighbors in and giving back to the communities in which TMR does business. “At Trademark Metals Recycling, it is our way of “paying it forward” for an organization that does so much for children. We are honored to partner with Shriner’s to raise money and help support their cause.”
