At Trademark Metals, we care about the environment. As a recycling industry leader, our goal is to preserve the environment of Florida and the United States through a strong comprehensive environmental protection program at all Trademark Metal Recycling facilities. We value the environment of the communities in which we operate and recognize its importance to our employees, their families and our continued welfare. Protecting the environment is critical to our operations and the company’s long-term success.
TMR proudly supports the Green Armada, an environmental group committed to keeping marine debris out of coastal areas, inland waterways, and oceans. Last year alone, The Green Armada picked up over 124,000 pounds of debris in Tampa Bay area waters.
TMR and our parent, DJJ, are proud of our contributions to the scrap industry. As
an effort to assist in the reduction of mercury emissions from steel making, we fully support the National Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program (NVMSRP). The NVMSRP is a national partnership among steelmakers, scrap suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, environmental groups, the Environmental Council of States, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Their goal is to remove and recover mercury containing switches from end-of-life vehicles before they enter the scrap supply stream.
All of TMR’s scrap processing facilities have implemented a source control program to assure removal of Convenient Light Switch Assemblies prior to receipt of automobiles for shredding.
TMR’s separation technology maximizes the volume of metals recovered and recycled, preserving and protecting our environment. We annually recycle over three quarters of a million tons of material that might otherwise be discarded.
